New Delhi: In the atrocious riots happening in northeast Delhi, 17 persons have died and 190 injured so far. Stone-pelting, arson and vandalism raged in Delhi in the pretext of anti-CAA protests.
The curfew has been imposed in Maujpur, Jaffrabad, Chandbagh and Karawal Nagar. Heavy deployment of Delhi paramilitary forces like Rapid Action Force and CRPF were visible amidst announcements that shoot-at-sight orders had been issued.
Meanwhile rumours had emerged stating that a mosque has been damaged in Ashok Vihar area but the Delhi police countered on Tuesday saying that no such incident has happened.
“Some false information/news item has been circulating regarding damage to a mosque in Ashol Vihar area. It is to clarify that no such incident has taken place in the area of Ashok Vihar. Please do not spread false information,” the Deputy Commissioner of Police of North West district said.
Police have also sealed all roads that connect to Ghaziabad from northeast Delhi.
