New Delhi: Justice S Abdul Nazeer, one of the five judges in the Supreme Court which pronounced the Ayodhya verdict, has received threat from the Popular Front of India (PFI).
The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police to provide security to Justice Nazeer and his family after agencies warned about a threat to their lives from the PFI and ‘other quarters.’
Justice Nazeer and his family will be immediately provided with ‘Z’ category security. His family members reside in Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
‘Z’ category security cover comprises as many as 22 personnel of paramilitary and police.
The Supreme Court delivered the landmark verdict on November 9, where the court granted Ram Janmabhoomi to Hindus in Ayodhya. Centre will hand over the disputed site to the Board of trustees and a suitable alternative plot of land measuring 5 acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Waqf Board.
