Thiruvananthapuram: A family consisting of five members have tested positive for coronavirus after they recently visited Italy. The tally of cases in India thus reached 39.
Italy has been the worst-hit country in Europe with death toll 230.
State health Minister KK Shailaja said that the family refused to to be hospitalised and had not informed their travel history. Five people in Pathanamthitta have confirmed the coronavirus infection.
“They also refused to be hospitalised initially and we had to persuade them,” the minister said.
Among the five tested positive, three came from Italy recently and two others are their relatives. They are currently undergoing treatment at the General Hospital, Pathanamthitta.
