Lucknow: A Muslim cleric stirred up controversial remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He was addressing a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza on Sunday night incited provocative comments and has been booked by Sambhal police.
He reportedly called PM Modi and Amit Shah ‘terrorists’ and said that if the Muslims follow Nathuram Godse’s path then there will be a completely different scenario in the country. Raza also called UP CM Yogi Adityanath, an impostor.
Speaking to media, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sambhal said, “Tauqeer Raza has been booked under section 504 (intentional use of abusive language amounting to insult), 505 (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred between classes) and 153 (provocation to any person intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause the offence of rioting to be committed) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”
