New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that he will be interacting with the Sarpanchs from across the nation via video conferencing on Friday on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.
PM Modi tweeted, ” On Friday 24th April, which is marked as National Panchayati Raj Day, will be interacting with Sarpanchs from across the nation via video conferencing. I look forward to this interaction.”
The Prime Minister also announced that he shall be launching the e-GramSwaraj Portal and Mobile App.
“During the video conference on the 24th, the e-GramSwaraj Portal and Mobile App would be launched. The Swamitva Scheme would also be launched, which would add momentum to the efforts to alleviate poverty in rural areas,” he said.

Every year, on this occasion, Ministry of Panchayati Raj has been awarding the best performing Panchayats/States/UTs across the country under the Incentivization of Panchayats in recognition of their good work for improving delivery of services and public goods. This year three such awards viz. Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar (NDRGGSP), Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) Award have been finalized which will be shared with the concerned States/ UT.
