Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday claimed that Uttar Pradesh will become a destination for defence manufacturing and aerospace manufacturing.
“Preparations are underway for the Defence Expo to be held in February. I am convinced that Uttar Pradesh will become a destination for defence manufacturing and aerospace manufacturing,” Singh said.
Addressing a media gathering after reviewing the preparations for the Expo along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, he said that in the near future India will become the hub of defence equipment production as well as export and Uttar Pradesh will play an important role in it.
“PM Modi has agreed to open the four-day event which will prove to be a landmark in country’s capability in defence manufacturing and production. As best global companies have confirmed participation and agrees to transfer technology in area of defence through MoUs, ‘Make in India’ campaign will be strengthened.”
