New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking to transfer funds from PM CARES to National Disaster Relief Fund.
The Court also ruled that there was no need for a fresh national disaster relief plan for COVID-19.
The top court also stated that no institutions can be prohibited to male contributions to PM CARES Fund. The funds collected in PM CARES are for a charitable trust and there is no need to transfer them to NDRF.
The verdict was pronounced by a three-judge bench headed by justice Ashok Bhushan.
