Houston: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a 7-day visit to the US, was thanked by the Sikh Community for innovative decisions taken by his government, including the Kartarpur Corridor.
In addition, they also submitted a memorandum requesting the Prime Minister to address the prolonging issues pertaining to the 1984 Sikh Genocide, Article 25 of the Indian Constitution, Anand Marriage Act, Visa and the renewal of the passports of asylees, among others.
“We submitted a memorandum and thanked Modi ji for what he has done for Sikh community,” said Arvinder Chawla, sitting Commissioner, Arvin, California.
One of the members of the community addressed the Prime Minister as “Tiger”, whose presence in the United States is a matter of pride for the whole India-American community.
The mega event is ‘Howdy Modi!’ is scheduled today at 8.30 pm (IST) where Modi will address more than 50,000 members of the Indian-American community at NRG Stadium. US President Donald Trump will also join the Prime Minister.
