Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state government will give daily wage labourers and construction workers Rs 1,000 to meet their needs.
The Chief Minister in a press conference today announced a sum of Rs. 1000 to 20.37 lakhs of construction workers, who are registered with the labour department. He also promised Rs. 1000 to the 15 lakh self employed cart owners, small shop owners and rickshaw pullers with immediate effect.
Yogi Adityanath also announced that 1.65 crore Antyodaya workers, workers bearing MGNREGA cards and construction workers and small wage earners will be given a month stock of foodgrains free of cost by the state. They will be given 20 kg of wheat and 15 kg rice of rice.
The Chief Minister’s announcement comes as a relief to lakhs of poor people who will suffer the most as businesses and economic activities comes to a halt.
By far 23 cases have been reported in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 258 people have been infected so far in the country, with a death toll of four.
