Lucknow : The truck that smashed the car of the Unnao rape survivor belonged to a Samajwadi Party leader as reported by national media. On Monday, the Unnao rape survivor’s car was hit by a truck in which her aunts were killed and the lawyer and the survivor are in a critical condition.
As per reports, the truck in the accident belonged to SP leader Nandu Pal. Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government on Monday night has recommended a CBI probe into the accident.
Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar said in a statement that a formal request for it has been sent to Government of India. “The government has decided to refer the investigation of case crime number 305/2019 u/s 302/307/506/120 B IPC PS Gurbuxganj Distt Raebareli to the CBI. A formal request has been sent to Government of India in this regard,” he said.
On Sunday, the Unnao rape survivor with her family and lawyer was travelling when an over speeding truck hit them in Raebareli, killing two members and leaving her and lawyer critically injured.
