Wayanad: Police removed election campaign boards put up by BJP activists at Mananthavady in Wayanad. The boards were put up to welcome BJP Tamil Nadu President, K Annamalai and NDA candidate in Wayanad, K Surendran, to an election campaign. K Surendran reached the spot and questioned the police’s unnecessary action against BJP.
The BJP has planned a road show, led by Annamalai, at Mananthavady today as part of the election campaign. As part of the campaign, BJP activists had put up posters and boards at several locations in the town last night. The police and the flying squad of the Election Commission removed the boards today at 9.30 am after there was an issue concerning the location of these boards.
K Surendran reached the spot after hearing about the police action and engaged in a verbal quarrel with the police. BJP activists protested against the police action and reinstated the boards in the presence of K Surendran.
The officials and the police left the scene after the protests of BJP activists.
NDA candidate in Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, K Surendran, is putting up a strong fight against Congress’ Rahul Gandhi. Many voters in Wayanad believe that only the NDA candidate can solve their pressing issues such the need for a Medical College and the human-wildlife conflict. CPI’s Annie Raja is the candidate of LDF.
