New Delhi: In light of recent illegal transfers of money from the bank account of state universities and unlawful decisions to freeze the bank accounts of universities in Bihar, ABVP has submitted a memorandum to the RBI Governor demanding punitive action against the banks involved. Following the unauthorized freezing of bank accounts, financial crises have paralyzed the universities in Bihar.
The memorandum addressed to the RBI Governor explicitly highlights the illegal actions taken by the State Government’s Education Department, under the orders of a bureaucratic official, which violates the Bihar State Universities Act, 1976, and the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
ABVP has demanded stringent action against the unlawful and authoritarian decisions of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, which obstructs the autonomy and smooth functioning of Bihar’s state universities. ABVP has also sent a letter to the Cabinet Secretary, informing about these improprieties and demanding intervention against these decisions of the Additional Chief Secretary (Education).
ABVP National General Secretary, Shri Yagywalkya Shukla, stated, “Bihar’s education sector, already lagging behind, is further regressing due to these authoritative decisions of the so-called Messiah of Education. The unauthorized transfer of students’ deposited money from the bank accounts of Bihar’s state universities is highly condemnable. ABVP has brought this matter to the attention of the RBI Governor through its memorandum, demanding adherence to regulations and immediate action.
