Palakkad: Weapons were found being carried in a vehicle used for election campaign of Alathur LDF candidate, K Radhakrishnan, who is also the Devaswom Minister in the cabinet. Janam TV was able to obtain CCTV visuals of weapons being taken out of the vehicle and placed on the road. The incident occurred yesterday evening during campaigning in Chelakara.
The weapons were spotted being taken out from a red-color car with Chitoor registration. When the local residents noticed the weapons being placed on the road, it was taken and put back in the car by party workers. This happened near the home of K Radhakrishnan.
The Chelakkara police have asked the party workers seen in the video to reach the station. However, the CPI(M) said that these weapons were carried to remove the party boards after the election campaign got over last evening.
NDA Palakkad candidate, C Krishna Kumar retorted that it is hard to believe that those weapons were carried to remove campaign boards and accused the CPI(M) of planning to riot.
Alathur UDF candidate, Remya Haridas, said that CPI(M) is trying to undermine the election.
