Kottayam: Renowned actress Urvashi has announced her decision to donate the money earned from participating in public events, including inaugurations, to the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) labour union. The announcement came during her speech at the FEFKA labour union conference.
Actress Urvashi emphasised that her decision stemmed from her experiences in the film industry, where she eat the majority of her meals on production sets in her professional life.
Addressing the audience, Urvashi highlighted the common practice in the industry where artists often attend events without compensation. She pledged to no longer accept such opportunities for personal gain and vowed to contribute any earnings from such events to the FEFKA labour union.
Urvashi mentioned that she predominantly consumed production food throughout her 40-year film career. She also shared with the audience that she was eating rice with pulissery when she felt hungry on the set of the movie ‘Lalsalam’.
