New Delhi: The Supreme Court held a Kerala-based woman guilty of being associated with the Islamic State (IS) and propagating ideologies of the terrorist organisation and awarded 7-years of imprisonment.
A bench of Justices U U Lalit and Indu Malhotra held there is sufficient evidence to prove she was advocating war against non-Muslims.
In 2016, 14 persons had left India to join IS. The police had received a complaint and Yasmeen Mohammad Zahid was arrested from Delhi airport to Afghanistan with her child. Her husband and others had already joined IS in Afghanistan.
