New Delhi: India is greatly advancing in the defence sector and now has made an advance payment to Russia for S-400 missile defense system. India will get the first delivery of this system next year. In the next 6 years, Russia will hand over all the defense systems to India.
The report comes after India’s foreign minister S Jaishankar’s recent visit to Moscow where he met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. According to a statement issued by the Federal Service of Russia, the issue of advanced payment of S-400 with India has been resolved.
Vladimir Drozhzhov, deputy director of Russia’s Defense Cooperation Agency, said in July that if Russia gets advance payment by the end of 2019, India will be handed the first missile defence system by 2020 and full delivery will be done by 2025.
