New Delhi: The first indigenous train of the Indian Railways, Vande Bharat Express, completed its one year of service, with a cumulative earning of Rs 92.29 crore and 100 per cent occupancy, the Northern Railway said on Tuesday.
The Vande Bharat Express covers the distance between New Delhi and Varanasi in eight hours and runs on all days of the week, except Monday and Thursday.
The train was inaugurated at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he dedicated to the nation on February 15 last year.
The train has 16 passenger cars, with a seating capacity of 1,128 passengers. Two of the center compartments are first class compartments that seat 52 each, with the rest being coach compartments seating 78 each.
