Thiruvananthapuram: State Health Minister KK Shailaja announced confirmation of eight more cases of coronavirus in Kerala. Five patients from Kozhikode, one each from Pathanamthitta, Kannur and Kasargod districts have been diagnosed with the disease.
Out of the five tested positive in Kozhikode, 4 are from Nizamuddin and one came from Dubai. The one infected in Pathanamthitta came from Delhi while the other two infected each in Kannur and Kasaragod came in contact with the patients.
So far, 10 people who came from Nizamuddin have been confirmed positive for coronavirus.
A total of 314 cases have been reported in the state. The results of 6 samples today tested negative. These six cases were from Kannur (4), Thiruvananthapuram (1) and Kozhikode (1).
At present 256 people are hospitalised for treatment. And a total of 56 people have been cured of coronavirus disease and discharged from the hospital.
1,58,617 people in different districts of the state are under observation. Of these, 1,57,841 are under observation in homes and 776 in hospitals. A total of 188 people were admitted to the hospital today. A sample of 10,221 individuals with symptoms was sent for testing. Out of it , 9,300 samples have been tested negative.
