Thrissur: As part of Thrissur Pooram, the annual temple festival, the flag-hoisting (Kodiyettam) ceremony was held with the presence of only five people due to coronavirus lockdown. This is for the first time in the history of Thrissur pooram where no masses took part in the ritual.
The ritual was held on Sunday with only five people at Paramekkav and Thiruvambadi temples.
The officials had earlier declared that the Pooram will not be conducted this year owing to the pandemic crisis.
