Kochi : Advocate Ramkumar has filed a petition, demanding the dismissal, of TDB member KP Shankardas. KP Shankardas had climb the “18 holy steps” without irumudikett, which is a must as per the custom. Those who are responsible to protect the custom are breaking them, is the reason behind the petition.

Video footage showing, KP Shankardas ascending and descending the holy steps, without irumudikett was telecast by Janam TV, last day. KP Shankardas firmly clings to a stand that, he has not broken any temple custom.

The episode of melancholy happened when the temple was opened for Chithira Attathirunal rituals.

KP Shankardas climbed the holy steps along with Thanthri , Chief Priest and his assistants. Thanthri and the Chief Priest and the royal family members can climb the steps without irumudikett. KP Shankardas makes an excuse that he climbed the steps to ignite the Aazhi.

Thanthri made it clear that, if any breach happened to the custom of the temple, rituals for resolutions must be performed.
