Thiruvananthapuram: India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall on Tuesday in Kerala. The southwest monsoon arrived in the state on Monday.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissue, Idukki, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
The low pressure formed in the Arabian Sea will turn into cyclone. The cyclone has been named ‘Nisarga’ which is moving at a speed of 45-55 kmph. Fishing in Kerala has been prohibited till June 4.
Also, some of the shutters of Aruvikkara dam were opened on Monday causing waterlogging in the low lying parts of the city.
