Kozhikode: Soon after Director Ali Akbar announced his new project on Muslim riots, he started receiving death threats. The threats have been flowing in from abroad and native land.
Ali Akbar announced the similar film like that of Aashiq Abu’s “Variyam Kunnan”. When actor Prithviraj has been roped into Aashiq’s film as Variyamkunnath Ahmad Haji, Ali Akbar would be portaying the same character as a villain.
On his Facebook post, Ali Akbar wrote that his film belongs to the fallen souls and asked those actors who have guts to cooperate with his film. At the same time, he said that he was facing death threats following the announcement of the film.
In a video post, he said that many are hatching conspiracy to kill him. However, the film shall move on even if he is killed, said Ali Akbar.
