Thiruvananthapuram: In a twist, the investigation is now leading to late violinist Balabhaskar. According to an eyewitness, the first accused in the gold smuggling case, Sarith was present at the scene of the Balabhaskar’s car accident.

Kalabhavan Sobi who arrived in 10 minutes at the accident spot, has now come up with the new revelation. He said that after Sarith’s photo surfaced on the social media, he could recognize the latter’s presence in the then incident.

Violinist Balabhaskar and his family met with an accident in Pallipuram of the state’s capital city. Kalabhavan Sobi had earlier in a statement said that he had passed through the spot when the accident just occurred. Sobi had told the Crime Branch that he had seen some people under mysterious circumstances, when he passed that way. However, the investigation came to a standstill.

Relatives had earlier alleged that Balabhaskar’s death was an enigma. The family also demanded an investigation into the gang’s role in the gold smuggling. Balabhaskar’s relatives came to the scene with suspicion over his death after a former manager of Balabhaskar was involved in the gang which smuggled 25 kg of gold.
