New Delhi: Due to the coronavirus outbreak, India for the first time in the history, will see a limited Independence Day function at Red Fort in the New Delhi.
As per reports, only 20 per cent VVIPs or other participants will be a part of the function to hear the live speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar and ASI Director-General have took stock of the preparations at the Red Fort.
The change in the celebration would be that no children but the National Cadet Corps will attend the celebrations.
The VVIPs will be seated at the lower level unlike the usual seating at the rampart.
One of the highlights of the participation is that 1,500 corona winners would be the participants. 500 from the local police and 1,000 from different parts of the country will be a part of it.
