Mandala- Makaravilakku season in Sabarimala; Tight Security at Sannidhanam

Sabarimala: As thousands of devotees prepare to maintain the tradition and culture and the Government,to support the non believers to breach rituals,the holy shrine of Sabarimala will be opened today.

The temple doors will be opened by Head priest Kandaru Rajeevaru and Chief priest A V Unnikrishnan Namboothiri at five in the evening. The ceremonial installation of the newly selected priests will be taken place in the evening. Tanthri Kandaru Rajeevaru will anoint the priests and welcome them to the sanctum sanctoruim by holding their hands.

V N Vasudevan Namboothiri is the newly selected Sabarimala melsanthi and M N Narayanan Namboothiri, Malikappuram melsanthi.

Meanwhile, Section 144 is imposed in four regions as Sabarimala temple is opening today.

Ilavungal,Nilakkal,Pampa and Sannidhanam are the places where section 144 is imposed. The same was done at the time of Chithira Aatta special poojas.
