Kannur: A youth was injured when an explosive device exploded at Mattannur Naduvanad. Rajesh alias Munacha was injured who is a CPM member and is accused in several criminal cases.
He was admitted to the Pariyaram Government Medical College hospital. The Mattanur police is investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, CPM workers blocked Kannur DCC president Satheen Pacheni from visiting the house of Rajesh where the blast took place. The blockade was led by local leaders of the CPM.
Satheesan Pacheni demanded a thorough investigation into the blast. He alleged that the police were trying to rubbish the bomb blast by stating that explosives exploded while making firecrackers to shoo away pigs.
