“Why govt afraid of CBI if it has not committed any mistake”, asks K Surendran

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K Surendran said that the government is approaching the High Court against the CBI probe in the Life Mission project scam out of fear.

In a statement, he asks why those who have not committed anything wrong were opposing to the CBI probe. The BJP leader also asked that the Chief Minister who claims that he was ready to face any inquiry and that he had requested NIA to probe, is for what reason opposing the central investigation agencies in the Life Mission case.

“The CM is afraid of the CBI probe because he has a lot to hide. The CM should make it clear that who other than CNI will investigate foreign donations. Even Minister Thomas Isaac had accepted the occurrence of corruption. Pinarayi, who left a similar case to the CBI after accepting foreign aid, is showing double standards in the Life Mission scam to save his own chair,” Surendran alleged.

“It is a shame that the government who got commission from the Life Mission project is now spending public’s money to sabotage the investigation against it. It is not right to use the money in the treasury to escape corruption cases. Pinarayi Vijayan has to file a case in the high court using his own money,” the BJP leader added.

Or else the government should seek financial support from the AKG Center to move a case against the CBI, said K Surendran.
