Idukki : Pilgrims trek Sabarimala via Sathram Kananapatha are imposed with more restrictions by the police. Police stopped the devotees in the morning later with strict security check they were permitted to go along Kananpatha.
3 Thiruvananthapuram natives, who reached Satram were stopped and the police were not willing let them proceed.
Most of the Ayyappas who reached Sabarimala the other night were from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts and most of them traveled through Satram Pulmed and Kananpatha in observance to this the officials decide to restrict the passage, explained the police!
A threat in the name of bear was given to the localities by the police, when they enquired why the devotees are returned. The claim by the police was refused by the forest authority says the localities. When the posse were questioned on the grounds of this, officials after strict checks let the devotees in.
Police at Satram told the press that they were following orders, reason why they stopped the pilgrims.
