Ranji Trophy : Kerala won by 9 wickets

Kolkata : Kerala won by 9 wickets against Bengal in Ranji Trophy. Basil Thampy and Sandeep Varyar from two innings took 7 wickets made the victory of Kerala easy.

Kerala took the ground for bating with a target of 41 runs in the second innings achieved their score with the sacrifice of 1 wicket. Kerala lose the wicket of Jalaj Saxena, who scored 26 runs in the second innings. Saxena’s century in the first innings was a stunning performance gifted Kerala with an edge over Bengal.

Bengal could score only 147 runs in the first innings. Basil Thampy took 4 wickets while M D Nitheesh took 3 wickets, dismissing Bengal’s five batsman without any runs to the gallery. Anustup Majumdar with 53 runs and Abhishek Kumar Raman with 40 runs were the only worthwhile performances from team Bengal.

Only four batsman managed to secured a two digit score for Bengal.

Out of 3 matches, Kerala managed to be at the first place with 13 points. Saurashtra and Gujrat are at second place with 9 points.
