Kochi : State Government suggests that two days can be kept reserved for women entry. The High Court has given time for the State Government to submit a report on what the Government can do for the women entry to Sabarimala. The High Court directed the Government on the basis of the plea submitted by 4 women to trek Sabarimala.
The young ladies had approached the High Court stating that they are abstaining and following the rituals to trek Sabarimala in this season itself. The petitioners has requested for 2 days to be reserved for women entry to Sabarimala. State attorney had backed the demand of the petitioners and cleared it, that 2 will be reserved for women entry.
The Court asked the practical possibility of the commitment. The Court shed light on the aspect that the constitutional rights of the women to go to Sabarimala is an issue of security and safety as well. The Government is to inform the Court on what facility can arranged for the women entry.
The Court allowed the Government to revert in a week. The division bench headed by the Chief Justice directed the government.
