Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee’s ally and noted artist, Subhaprasanna Bhattacharjee voiced his disagreement on the ban of The Kerala Story in West Bengal.
The artist said that banning of the film is a big mistake. The film is produced by a well known producer and that it does not present anything controversial. He added that banning a film which was certified by the CBFC is not right.
He added that director Sudipto Sen is the pride of Bengal and it is foolish to ban his film. As a supporter of the TMC it is his duty to point out their mistakes.
Subhaprasanna is a long time supporter of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and has extended his support for the party various times in the past.
Also the Supreme Court is holding a hearing of the producer’s petition on the ban today.
