Thiruvananthapuram: The ration distribution in the state has been disrupted due to technical glitch in the E-POS machines. More than half of the ration card holders were unable to get ration last month due to server issues in E-POS machines. The ration shops in the state were closed for three days due to delay in rectifying the server issues. Although the ration distribution was restarted towards the month end, the ration for month of April was distributed on May.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies G R Anil said that the efforts to resolve the server issues have started and the problem would be rectified within half an hour. The ration shop owners have informed that shops in many district faced difficulties. The distribution has been disrupted in 11000 ration shops in Kozhikode and 167 shops in Palakkad.

The server issues affected the ration supply in Ernakulam district also. The shop owners informed that 80 % of the shops were affected. There are more than 1300 ration shops in the district. Similar issues were reported in Wayanad.
