Chennai: Increase in stone-pelting incidents on the Mysore-Chennai Vande Bharat express. In the last six months, 64 window glasses have been changed because of this.
Railway officials said that most pelting on the Mysore-Chennai route is done by minors. There have been seven different reports in Chennai with connections to the pelting of Vande Bharat. 80% of the pelting took place in the Bengaluru division, where almost 26 windows were changed.
On the basis of the reports from January 1 to May 10, the collective stone-pelting cases on other trains were only 45 in number. Shatabdi Express has reported fewer cases than Vande Bharat in comparison, even though both trains travel the same route.
