Bhopal: Six Saptarishi idols have been collapsed at Ujjain’s Mahakal Lok corridor due to gusty winds in Madhya Pradesh. Many other damages and destructions were reported several part of the state due to heavy rain and wind.
Six out of seven idols of Saptarishis installed in the corridor were blown down by the wind. Officials said no one was injured even though there were many devotees in the corridor at that time. The facility was shut for a few hours following the incident Works have begun to reinstall the idols.
Mahakaleswar temple, worth Rs.856 crore, is one of the 12 Jyothirlingas in the country.The temple is situated near the bank of the Holy River Shipra. It is believed that the Siva in linga form is the emanated power streams of Swayambhu. The temple also has 108 Siva pillars in different postures depicting the ‘Ananada Tanadava Swaroop’ of Lord Siva and is said to be the most sacred abode of Lord Siva. There are two Jyothirlingas in the state, The second one is Omkareswar Jjyothilinga which is located 140 km south of Mahakaleswar Jyothirlinga.
