Fire breaks out in Alappuzha –Kannur Executive Express; a complete bogie caught fire

Kannur: A coach of Kannur executive Express caught fire in Kannur railway station today at 1:30 am.

The train was halted in the station while the fire caught in the general compartment. A person can be seen carrying a can and moving towards the train in the CCTV visuals. Railway officials clarified that there could not be any chance for short circuit as the train was stopped.

The incident took place around 11:15pm after the passengers were alighted and the train was shifted from the platform. Seeing the fire, the railway officials called the fire brigade and the team worked for hours to extinguish the fire, other bogies was detached from the train so it did not spread to the rest compartments.

D1 compartment of the same train was burnt by Shahruk Saifi in Elathur on 2nd April and he was arrested for the incident. The general compartment of the same train has been completely burnt toady while the NIAs investigation is in progress on Shahruk Saifi.
