Istanbul: Manchester City FC wins the UEFA Champions League (ULC) title for the first time in the competition’s history by defeating Inter Milan FC by 1-0.
Rodrigo’s goal for Man City in the 68th minute ended Inter Milan’s hopes.
After the English Premier League and the FA Cup, they managed to win their third title of the season. Manchester City becomes the second English Premier League team to win three titles in one season after Manchester United.
“Emotional. A dream comes true. All these guys around here waited—I don’t know how many years— they deserve; we deserve”, Rodrigo said.
Rodrigo scored the goal for City in a counter-attack. Manchester City was planning for an attacking game, and they got a couple of chances to score in the first half against Inter Milan.
In the second half, Inter Milan had changed their defensive strategy and started to attack, and the result might have changed when the striker Lautaro Martinez scored for Milan when there was only the goalkeeper in front of him in the 59th minute of the match.
