New Delhi: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) made an eagerly anticipated announcement on Thursday regarding the format and hosting arrangements for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023.

In a bid to ensure the smooth execution of the tournament amidst ongoing challenges, the ACC revealed a unique hybrid model, with matches scheduled to take place in both Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The Asia Cup 2023, set to feature six top cricketing nations, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, promises to deliver thrilling One-Day International (ODI) encounters from August 31 to September 17, 2023. The tournament will feature a total of 13 matches, providing fans with an exciting display of cricketing prowess.

Out of the 13 matches, Pakistan has been selected as the host for four matches, while the remaining nine games will be played in Sri Lanka. This innovative hybrid model not only ensures a fair distribution of matches between the two countries but also takes into consideration logistical considerations and prevailing circumstances.
