Lucknow: In Kanpur district, a madrasa teacher was arrested for sexually abusing and blackmailing a 17-year-old girl. The police have opened an investigation based on the minor’s accusation. According to the survivor, the accused, Mohd Ahmad, a Bithoor local, conducts a madrasa in one of his house’s sections. She had also attended the madrasa. She mentioned in her lawsuit that she left the madrasa in 2018. It is said that even after she left, this maulana would call her home on various pretexts and sexually assault her.
The girl further said that on January 22, the maulana summoned her to his home and asked her to make meals since his wife was unwell.
“However, on reaching there, he drugged me and raped me. He also made a video of the act. When I resisted, he assaulted me,” she said in her complaint. The girl further accused maulana of filming the act and blackmailing her to make the video viral. With this threat, he started physically abusing her often.
The accused became aware of the charge filed against him and attempted to leave but was apprehended. Atul Singh, station in-charge in Bithoor, stated.
