IDUKKI: In a distressing incident reported from Thankamany, Idukki, a woman was allegedly kidnapped from her husband’s house. The victim, identified as Sheeba, hails from Pathanapuram, and had married Ranjith, belonging to a different caste.
The inter-caste couple’s life took a grim turn when a group of assailants stormed Ranjith’s residence, subjecting him and his family members to physical assault before forcibly taking Sheeba away.
The incident triggered an immediate response from the authorities, with the victim’s family lodging a complaint with the police. In light of the serious allegations, the police have registered a case against 13 individuals, including Youth Congress leaders Anish Khan and Yadukrishnan.
The charges encompass breaking and entering the house, as well as assaulting the family members during the violent incident.
The alleged kidnapping and assault have sparked concerns over the safety and security of inter-caste couples in the region.
