Manchester : Manchester United has announced that Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes will take over as the club’s new captain. This decision follows the recent stripping of the captaincy from England centre-back Harry Maguire on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes, a talented midfielder, has previously donned the captain’s armband on several occasions, showcasing his leadership qualities on the field. Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, confirmed that Bruno will be assuming the captaincy role on a permanent basis, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the team.

Since joining the club in 2020, Bruno Fernandes has been a standout performer, impressing both fans and critics with his exceptional skills and contributions. In 185 games for Manchester United, the midfielder has showcased his versatility by scoring six goals and delivering an impressive 54 assists, cementing his place as a key player for the team.

The decision to appoint Bruno Fernandes as the new captain comes as a strategic move by the club as they seek to rally their squad and achieve their goals on the pitch. The Portuguese playmaker’s ability to lead by example and inspire his teammates is seen as a valuable asset in motivating the team to perform at their best.
