Malappuram: A man arrested in an MDMA case died in police custody at Tanur Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Tirurangadi, Mamburam native Thamir Jiffry (30). He was apprehended in connection with drug trafficking.
On Tuesday morning, Tanoor Police took him into custody along with four others for allegedly possessing 18 gram MDMA, a synthetic drug. Police states that he breathed his last after collapsing in custody, though he was rushed to a nearby private hospital, he was pronounced dead by the doctors.
District Crime Branch DySP KC Babu is in charge of the investigation. Further details are awaited.
