100 kg of bombs kept in the city: Suspect ‘Ruksar Ahmed,’ who propagated false information arrested; reports claims he called police 79 times in last five months.

MUMBAI: Police have apprehended Ruksar Ahmed (43), a tailor who provided false information, claiming that there were 100 kg of explosives kept within the city. On Saturday night, he phoned the Mumbai police control room and provided a false message.

He informed the police that there were explosives in different areas of Mumbai. After realizing that the message was propagating false information, the police arrested him at his residence in Malwan, Mumbai. After his arrest and further questioning, the police obtained shocking information.

Over the past five months, Ahmed had made 79 calls to the Mumbai Police control room. A crime branch official stated that the accused is dealing with mental health issues, and the investigation into the case is going on.

Earlier, the Mumbai police also arrested a 19-year-old man for providing false information about bomb threats at the international airports of Mumbai and Delhi in June. The police arrested him by tracing his mobile location.
