In a surprising and momentous development, a Hindu temple has been ceremoniously unveiled in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. This establishment marks a remarkable stride in fostering cultural bonds between Taiwan and India.

This unique Hindu temple named ‘Sabka Mandir’ in Taiwan serves as a pivotal milestone in the growing camaraderie between the two nations and their people. The temple’s realisation can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of Andy Singh Arya, an Indian expatriate who has called Taiwan home for two decades. Andy Singh, known for owning a well-loved Indian restaurant in Taiwan, played a key role in bringing the temple project to fruition.

Sana Hashmi, an Indian resident of Taiwan, expressed her elation at the temple’s inauguration, viewing it as a historic juncture in the cultural narrative of India-Taiwan relations. Dr. Priya Lalwani, the founder of IIT Taiwan Indian, emphasised the significance of this event, not only for the Indian community in Taiwan but also for the Taiwanese populace at large.

With expectations of prosperity and tranquillity, the newly inaugurated temple is poised to bestow blessings upon Taiwan. This occasion aligns with broader diplomatic initiatives, including plans to establish a Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in Mumbai.

The centre’s establishment is projected to foster enhanced exchange and collaboration between the two countries. Notably, alongside the ‘Sabka Mandir,’ an ISKCON temple is already present in the region, further underscoring the vibrant cultural connections between Taiwan and India.
