Kozhikode: A significant drug bust took place at Karipur airport, leading to the arrest of a youth from Uttar Pradesh who was found in possession of drugs valued at Rs 44 crore. The individual, identified as Rajeev Kumar from Muzaffarpur, was apprehended upon his arrival from Nairobi yesterday evening.
The examination conducted by DRI revealed the presence of drugs in his possession. The authorities seized a total of 3.5 kilogrammes of marijuana and 1.75 kilogrammes of heroin from the suspect.
Reports suggest that he brought drugs with the intention of selling them in Malappuram and Kozhikod. Consequently, individuals who were attempting to purchase drugs from him are also under investigation. Officials are actively examining Rajeev Kumar’s travel documents to obtain further details.
