THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In connection with the KSRTC bus stone-pelting incident that occurred on June 23, another individual has been arrested. The third accused, identified as Anu (21) from Nadukkadu, is allegedly involved in several other cases across different police stations.

Previously, one of the accused in the same incident, Muhammad Kaif (21), was arrested by the Nemam police.

It was reported that on June 23, around 3 pm, a group of three individuals on a motorcycle threw stones at a KSRTC bus at Vellayani Junction signal. They also attacked the bus driver. The targeted bus bore the registration number KL 15A 2022 and was en route from Nagercovil to Thiruvananthapuram. The perpetrators had been tailing the bus from Pravachambalam with the intention to assault it.

During the attack, the front windshield of the bus was damaged. Notably, the motorcycle used by the attacker had no number plate. However, the accused were later identified through CCTV footage during the police investigation. Subsequently, Anu was arrested, produced in court, and remanded in custody.
