Thiruvananthapuram: The excitement is palpable across the state as the sale of tickets for the Onam Bumper lottery is in full swing. Preliminary estimates suggest that approximately 30 lakh tickets have already been sold, and demand continues to surge as draw day draws near.
This year, the lottery tickets were made available early, as they were distributed at the Bhagavathy lottery agency in Thiruvananthapuram district, learning from the lessons of last year’s rush. Employees at the agency have noted the remarkable interest and enthusiasm among ticket buyers.
The allure of the Onam Bumper is not just the substantial cash prizes but also the spirit of collective participation. Many individuals opt to test their luck by purchasing tickets in partnership, creating a sense of camaraderie and shared anticipation.
The jackpot for the first-place winners of the Onam Bumper stands at a staggering Rs. 25 crore, an enticing sum that has captured the dreams of countless hopefuls. Additionally, 20 individuals stand a chance to win Rs. 1 crore each as second-place prize winners. In total, a whopping Rs. 125 crore and Rs. 54 lakh will be distributed as prizes, adding to the allure of the lottery.
Even amid the economic challenges faced by the state, the government is placing its hopes on the Onam Bumper to provide financial relief to the winners and contribute to the state’s economy.
