KOLLAM: Vasudevan (65), a resident of Kochu Kuruvickonam in Anchal, Kollam district, was subjected to a brutal assault. The assault occurred when Vasudevan was traveling on the private bus “Upasana” operating on the Punalur-Anchal route earlier this morning.
Following the incident, the injured Vasudevan is currently receiving treatment at Punalur Taluk Hospital.
The altercation began when the bus stopped at a location that was not where Vasudevan intended to disembark. The bus conductor verbally abused him, and upon exiting the bus, the conductor approached Vasudevan from behind and physically assaulted him.
As a result of the injuries sustained, Vasudevan was initially taken to Anchal Government Hospital and later transferred to Punalur Taluk Hospital for more comprehensive medical care.
In response to the incident, the police have taken Vasudevan’s statement and subsequently arrested the bus conductor, identified as Aromal.
