THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) disconnected the electricity supply to the KSRTC bus depot situated in Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram
The move comes as a result of non-payment of outstanding electricity bills by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
KSEB, in a statement, clarified that the electricity connection was severed due to unpaid dues amounting to Rs. 41,000. The electricity disconnection had an immediate impact on the daily operations at the depot, causing disruptions in various activities.
KSRTC employees expressed their displeasure, citing that the electricity disconnection occurred without any prior notification. They highlighted the adverse effects this had on their operations, including disruptions in reservation ticket bookings, which, in turn, inconvenienced passengers.
As the incident gained widespread attention and controversy, KSEB officials swiftly intervened and reinstated the electricity connection to the Thampanoor KSRTC depot.
