Thiruvananthapuram: The Thalassery Archdiocese has raised concerns and objections regarding the scheduling of school sports meet on a Sunday. The Archdiocese Pastoral Council has formally requested the postponement of the Kannur District Athletic Meet due to the inconvenience for Christians.
Muthukunnel Anthony, the Vicar General of Thalassery Archdiocese, expressed the viewpoint that conducting the School sports meet on a Sunday would create difficulties for Christians to participate.
The athletic meet is slated to take place in Thalassery on the 5th, 6th, and 8th of this month. Notably, the matches originally scheduled for the 7th have been shifted to the 8th due to teacher training.
