Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar extended his congratulations on the opening of Baps Swaminarayan Akshardham, the largest Hindu temple in the US and the first outside India, to devotees. Akshay Kumar shared on social media that it was a moment of great pride.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and seeing the vision of Guru Mahant Swami Maharaj into making this happen. Absolutely brilliant!’, Akshay wrote on X.

The temple was inaugurated after 12 years of construction work, with approximately 12,500 workers from various parts of America contributing to its completion. Entry to the temple will be allowed starting from October 18th. This temple is dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan, a spiritual master who lived in the 19th century.
The temple was inspired by Mahant Swami Maharaj, the successor and spiritual leader of Lord Swaminarayan. The temple was designed by a group of Baps monks and volunteers from India and spans across an area of 183 acres.
